Golf Courses Near Nostalgic Place

If you wish to play golf while staying with us, allow us to assist you in making arrangements and t-times at one of our nearby golf courses.  There is a nine-hole semi-private course, Arcadia Valley Country Club, 10 minutes away from Nostalgic Place; or a 30 minute drive will take you to Crown Pointe Golf Club ( formerly Eagle Lakes) in Farmington, a 41/2 star course.   Both offer club and cart rentals, putting greens, swimming pools, and much more.

If you love to go hiking and picnicking, we suggest the following locations near Nostalgic Place.  You will experience many of the most spectacular and beautiful scenic areas in the entire State of Missouri.  Make it a romantic and carefree day.  May we also suggest a lovely picnic lunch and bottle of wine from our special packages?

THE OZARK TRAIL - Some of the most outstanding sections of this 350 mile trail are in the Arcadia Valley area.

BELL MOUNTAIN WILDERNESS AREA - Pristine Missouri glades with trailheads located on State Rte. A and Hwy 32

BUFORD MOUNTAIN STATE FOREST - Hiking, & hunting on the third highest mountain in Missouri.

COUNCIL BLUFF LAKE & RECREATION AREA - This 440 acre lake is the largest of the lakes in the Mark Twain National Forest. The recreation area serves anglers, campers, picnickers, hikers, bicyclists, and swimmers.  A  13-mile trail for hikers and bicylists circles the lake along the shore.  From Nostalgic Place, Hwy 21 N to Hwy DD.

CRANE LAKE CONSERVATION AREA - Hidden, but one of the most beautiful small lakes in the area with a 12 mile hiking and biking trail around the lake, picnic areas, and great fishing.  From Nostalgic Place, Hwy E to Crane Pond Lake Road.

GOGGIN'S MOUNTAIN EQUESTRIAN TRAIL - Perfect for hiking and part of the Ozark Trail.  From Nostalgic Place,  21 North to Hwy N - across from Johnson Shut-Ins. Goggins Mountain Trail is temporarily closed for construction of the new Johnson's Shut-ins campground  & redevelopment program.

HUGHES MOUNTAIN NATURAL AREA - The Devil’s Honeycomb Trail explores a vast glade on the huge dome-like outcropping of Pre-Cambrian rock that caps Hughes Mountain. The 430 acres on and around Hughes Mountain are a designated Missouri Natural area. Unique Pre-Cambrian rhyolite formations over a billion years old are scattered around the summit. From Nostalgic Place, Highway 21 North, to left on Route M then a quarter-mile right on Cedar Creek Road.

KETCHERSIDE MT. STATE FOREST - Hiking trails and hunting use. Hwy 21 South of Nostalgic Place.

MARBLE CREEK RECREATION AREA - Beautiful oasis along Marble Creek.   Go swimming and explore this section of the Ozark Trail. From Nostalgic Place go East on Hwy E.

MILLSTREAM GARDENS WHITEWATER AREA - Dramatic rushing waters cascade through Tiemann Shut-Ins.  Hiking, picnicking, fishing, and archery range. From Nostalgic Place take Hwy 72 East.

SILVER MINES RECREATION AREA - Historic mine trails and beautiful scenery along the St. Francois River plus hiking trails, camping, and picnicking areas. From Nostalgic Place take Hwy 72 East to Hwy "D."
