You can drive yourself, or use our shuttle service, and within minutes be in the water. First, stop off at Peola Valley Pottery for a few quick tips from the artist himself. Continue to the river for a day of canoeing, rafting, playing and swimming. The river is a pleasure for veteran and novice floaters alike, offering an ever changing outdoor experience spring through fall. The river is clear and beautiful as it gently moves through dense wooded forests and green meadows winding past tall cliff walls dotted with caves and fern greenery. Be prepared with dry clothes for after your float, because on a weekend you can stick around for an awesome music show under the stars at Bearcat Getaway's outdoor amphitheater. A weekend summertime float package with a BBQ dinner can be arranged as well. After the show we’ll pick you up and bring you home.
On day three, a mid week romantic surprise can be arranged with breakfast on the patio followed with a special flower delivery. After breakfast take a minute in the Inn's gift shop to purchase bath items, like our chocolate scrub or bath salts for a refreshing soak later in the day. Then enjoy a quiet walk and time together in the grove by the spring while we prepare your room for your morning massage. Arrange for a picnic basket and big blanket. Eat lunch and spend an afternoon lying by one of several lakes or streams in the area. Return to the inn for a candle-lit dinner for two, or have a nice dinner out. Choose from a variety of local offerings. Wait until dusk to bring a perfect finish to a romantic day with a carriage ride through town as you share a bottle of wine. If you arrange it, while you are out, we’ll prepare your room with candles, flower petals and a special treat. At your request, we will draw a hot bath just in time for your return.. You can also arrange for private time in the outdoor hot tub under the stars.
Enjoy breakfast on the patio then grab your camera, our binoculars, and a tasty picnic lunch and hit the trail for hiking at one of our many beautiful parks. Within minutes of the B&B are over 15 state parks, national forests and recreational areas with nature trails. Choose from a variety of hiking challenges from easy to difficult. This area boasts the jewels of Missouri’s marvelous park system with hundreds of acres dedicated to promoting the appreciation and conservation of the region’s native plants. The Taum Sauk and Ozark trails present miles of paths over rock glades, through meadows, past native plants and flower gardens under the shade of rich bottomland. Streams peacefully meander through wooded valleys formed by the gently rising Ozark Mountains. Small crystal clear waterfalls drop through landscapes offering beautiful ever changing scenery from season to season, attracting hikers, nature lovers, students and bird watchers.  After a full day of hiking check out one of our local eateries for a hardy dinner. Then return to the Inn and relax in the hot tub under the stars. (Be sure to plan ahead with appropriate footwear and clothing for outdoor activities)
After a wonderful breakfast, rent bikes from the Inn and explore our quaint little towns. Extend the bike trip to include Elephant Rocks Park for an informational tour of geology. If swimming is your thing, drive to Council Bluff Lake for swimming and biking in the morning, then return to town for lunch. After lunch, spend time at our local golf course for a game, or attend a festival or rodeo if you are here during one of our event weekends. Recreation in the Arcadia Valley will be enjoyable anytime of year. Spring thru Summer, visitors are surrounded by deep green forests dotted with vibrantly colored wild flowers.
