Nostalgic
Place, on the National
Register of Historic Places, has 1800s style with the best in
modern comfort. Absorb the interesting past of this historic place.
The building rests in the Ursuline
Academy Historic District. This quiet, sweet countryside
escape was originally built by the Methodists in the 1840s for use
as a college. Beginning in 1877, the campus was expanded and used
as an all girls academy by the Ursuline Nuns.
Over 100 years later, this award winning Georgian beauty was preserved. In appreciation of its special character, the Crowell’s lovingly restored the old building. For their tireless efforts, The Crowell’s were honored by the Missouri House of Representatives with the 2003 Preserve Missouri Award for outstanding work in Historic Preservation.
